5 Galley Kitchen Design Makes Small Work Spaces Work

15 Galley Kitchen Design Makes Small Work Spaces Work

Kitchen kitchen: curse city dwellers. Of course, the workers of these forms might have been fine in those days, but in the post-war world, we are accustomed to using the kitchen to socialize as much as to prepare food – which can make these aisles lined up a little sticky points when apartment hunting.

But with big space challenges comes big opportunities for stylish solutions. We have seen more than a few kitchens that make us reconsider our previous attitude of not caring. And while some are just a little more than the spacious SMEG refrigerator, the inhabitants have managed to cram more than their stylish portion in square sizes into these hardworking corners. From high-end textiles to high-gloss hardware, they are as good as Pinterest, with kitchens two or three times their size – and this is a feat worth celebrating.

The fact that the before kitchen (swipe to see) was what we lived in for three years is still crazy to me. The transformation is unreal, in look and function and even though that sad excuse for a kitchen was here and ours, and for so much longer than this newly finished space has been, I can barely remember how it felt to use it day-in, day-out. Maybe our mind wipes away trauma for our own protection 😂🤷‍♀️ but for all of you living in your "before kitchens" please know I REALLY get it and I feel you and I promise that every bit of patience and every penny saved will be worth it. Fixers take time but are so worth it. • • • • #beforeandafter #yupitsikea #myonepiece #kitchensofinsta #theloloilook #distinctbydesign #elkayeveryday #thegarrisoncollection #bedrosiantile #kitchenmakeover #thatglow #evening #homesweethome #hunkerhome #everydayibt #livesimply #thankfulheart #fromwhereistand #blogger #designblog #designblogger #bloglovinhome #mypinterest #bluecabinets #myhgtv #apartmenttherapy #kitchengoals #lonnyliving #theeverygirlathome #galleykitchen

This is all about repetition. A series of golden chandeliers made a big impact along this long stretch.

No amazing Halloween decor over here for you today. I don't really decorate other than a Jack-o-lantern. 🎃 Our Trick or Treating actually got postponed until tomorrow because of impending rains and winds. I've been entertained by all the fb posts about how in the 80's we went rain, sleet or snow. It's true though. My memories from being really little are sweating in those plastic masks with the plastic one piece costumes. Anyone know what I'm talking about? . . . #halloweenday #trickortreat #pennsylvaniaweather #lastdayofoctober #fallfeels #autumndays #falldecor #fallkitchen #whitekitchen #paintedcabinets #kitchenfordisplayonly #kitchensign #cottagekitchen #galleykitchen #smallkitchen #lovingmyfalldecor #vintagekitchen #whitespaceswelove #blessedhomestyle #farmhousefeelsgood #lovingyourhomestyle #cozycottagefarmhouse #ourfarmhousetribef4f #comfycottagecharm #budgethomelove #1940shome #thedelightofdecor #myvintagecottagestyle #thedecoratedcottage #SignsInMyDesign

The endless shopping list is no problem, thanks to the unlimited rolls of meat paper rolls mounted on the wall. Now you don’t need to run back to the store for one thing that you somehow forgot again (hey, we can dream, right?).

Just when we thought we were above the subway tile trend, this shift made us reconsider. Instead of the classic white subway tile with gray grout, this attractive color-blocked kitchen changes the timeless design on its head, using gray subway tile and white grout instead. And just like that, we return to this view.

4. Back To Black

Is it just us, or does this matte-black handle look so modern against a dark cabinet? We’ve never seen tone-to-tone look so cool.

5. Tread Lightly

Proof that kitchen kitchens can look Instagram-ready if you know how to make them. Replacing standard mats with Moroccan luxe textiles is a quick ticket to a beautiful earthly vibe.
