While the whole world waits for the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 and Microsoft Surface Pro 5, there is reportedly a common link that is pushing their release dates further back. It is the Windows 10 Creators Update.
Even though Microsoft has been extremely tight-lipped about its highly-anticipated devices, it is a no-brainer that the devices will come equipped with the massive Windows 10 update.
According to MSPowerUser, the Windows 10 Creators Update will likely release in April. Previously, the update had a version number 1703 and that lead everybody to speculate that the update will be released in March.
However, the number has now been changed to 1704 and that means it is coming in April. This could be one of the key reasons why the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 and Microsoft Surface Pro 5 have not been released yet.
The Surface Pro 5 is expected to come with a 4K Display and hence the Windows 10 Creators update is essential for its 3D capabilities. Microsoft is reportedly trying to fix on the timing of the launch and shipping schedules for both the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 and Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
The Windows 10 Creators Update will be feature-locked around the middle to end of January so that the development team will have enough time to roll out the devices by April.
The Windows 10 updates are focusing on 3D capabilities, Cortana enhancements, improved Microsoft Edge browser experience and advanced security features among a lot of other features.
