The seventh installment of the horror film franchise Child’s Play is officially announced titled as Cult of Chucky! The franchise, which Don Mancini created, consists of several spine-chilling slasher films. It indeed is commendable for a franchise to evolve so many wonderful plots from one idea that has scared off everyone for so many years.

According to Coming Soon, Universal 1440 Entertainment recently announced Cult of Chucky! with a trailer. The production of the film is likely to begin in Canada next week but the team has yet to reveal the release dates. As per the source, it is expected to arrive on home video by this fall.


Glenn Ross, the senior official of Universal 1440 Entertainment, mentioned that “Now Chucky’s back with more scores to settle in his trademark twisted style, and you can bet he won’t stop until he gets his revenge.” Further, he stated that it appears almost unbelievable that the franchise has become nearly 30 years old now.

Don Mancini, the writer of all seven movies and the director of the past two films, will return to direct Cult of Chucky! Along with him, Fiona Dourif will star as Nica Pierce again who is one of the survivors from Curse of Chucky. Brad Dourif will lend his voice for Chucky, the doll possessed by the spirit of a notorious serial killer. Meanwhile, Jennifer Tilly will return to play te role of Chucky’s bride Tiffany.
